Location

Ubud is arguably the best place to use as a base if you're visiting Bali; if you're looking for culture, comfort, nature and inspiration. Ubud is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali -- scenic rice fields, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples, palaces, rivers, cheap accommodation and unique luxury hotels. And it's central location makes it easy to get from Ubud to the mountains, beaches, and major towns.

Ubud is incredibly well supplied with fine restaurants, cafes and foodstalls of almost every variety, from Mexican to Japanese to German to Italian and of course authentic Balinese food. Standards of hygeine are generally excellent in all restaurants, and even in the foodstalls. Water served if always either bottled or sterlised by boiling, and the ice is safe too. So don't worry too much, just drive right in and eat whatever and whenever you feel like it.

Chai Villa is a 5 to 10 minute drive from Ubud centre.

Description

Serenity & simplicity of the Balinese nature lifestyle

The simple design provides a deep environment of peace which minimises waste, through a combination of very efficient and careful design, simplicity, smallness and local skills combined with choice of simple long life materials and details. To maximise space, furniture is built in. For example the Kotatsu table eliminates the need for a table and chairs and so frees up the living space considerably. This table is easily lowered when you require a clear flat floor.

The kitchen is open and spacious and has all the necessary appliances such as gas cooker, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster and is stocked with sufficient utensils, crockery and cutlery for six people when wanting to self-cater.

The bathrooms are typically Balinese; simple, spacious and partly open-roofed, with outdoor shower.

The house is conveniently located near the large 14 metre communal lap pool and children's pool set within lush tropical gardens.

For people who want to experience Balinese culture, see the ceremonies, the dances, the paintings, the sculptures, walk around and/or relax, there is plenty to do and Chai Villa makes the ideal base for visitors to Ubud.

Chai Villa offers you a chance to experience a stay in a environmentally friendly and ecologically sustainable compound which is part of Balinese village life.
