Maya is situated in the quaint village of Aranwella next to an ancient Buddhist temple. The journey from the International airport will take 3 and half hours and approximately. From your villa, you’re about 10 minutes’ drive from the beaches of Tangalle and Goyambokka, both great destinations for surfing and snorkeling. Villa guests can also take surfing lessons at the Bandula Surfing School at Tangalle Beach. Tangalle Lagoon, an eight minutes-drive from the villa, provides opportunity to kayak across the shimmering waters and mangrove swamp. Other nearby attractions include Wewurukannala Vihara, Madunagala Hermitage, Mulkirigala Rock Monastery, The Turtle Conservation Project at Rekawa Beach and Bundala National Park.

*In case of a cancellation 50% of the deposited amount will be refunded up to 4 weeks prior to arrival. Cancellations or no shows made within 7 days of arrival will not be refundable

Rural, 5 bedroom Colonial Villa

Housing five bedrooms, the villa is ideal for groups of 10 and is well-equipped for hosting destination weddings and events, as well as yoga and romantic retreats. The villa is fully staffed and the team are happy to handle the details of your holiday including arranging for tours, transfers and excursions.
Bedrooms
Villa Maya sleeps 10 guests in its five bedrooms. All bedrooms feature sweeping vistas out to the pool and rice paddies. Thekka and Khumbuk rooms, located across each other, feature similar designs and are fitted with four a poster bed, antique furnishings and private en-suite with rain shower, hairdryer, bathrobes and bathroom amenities. The Amba and Ehela rooms also boast a modern decor style and have generously proportioned attached en-suites. Sliding doors from the room and bathroom open onto a spacious private courtyard. The fifth bedroom, Kohomba, extends onto a covered courtyard and private garden.
Living areas
Enjoy the best of indoor-outdoor living at Villa Maya. Indoors, the villa houses spacious open-air pavilions. The main living area is fitted with sofas, a coffee table, lounge chairs and dining set, and provides unobstructed views of the garden. Guests can dine in the atmospheric dining room, at the poolside, in the outdoor pavilion or in the well-manicured garden. The glimmering pool overlooks emerald paddy fields and has loungers scattered all around. Beyond the pool, lies a breezy terrace, the perfect spot for shaded siestas, reading, or afternoon tea sessions.
