Stunning Villa on beautiful beach

We had a wonderful stay at Skye House. The staff were excellent and catered for our every need. The food was delicious and the villa was very clean. Architecturally the villa is beautiful and we'll furnished. We also had our wedding here and it was a great event space (we had 70 people) - with the large garden, palm trees for privacy and private access to beach (which was beautiful and not very busy). I would highly recommend this villa for a holiday or special occasion.

Magical villa with incredible staff

Skye villa is a beautiful house with a gorgeous swimming pool right on a stunning beach. The accommodation was ideal for our large family covering a huge age range. The staff, headed by Jakanka, were ever helpful, always smiling and wonderful with all of us, including 4 babies under 9 months. Samantha the chef provided an endless variety of asian dishes for ourselver as well as more traditional menus for our 8 grandchildren. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we couldn't have asked for a house more suited to us and in a more perfect setting. Eden Villas provided great support with drivers and making sure we were being well looked after.

Heaven.

First of all, I am really sorry for a late review. But I still feel that no review can do justice to the beauty of this place and the hospitality provided by those who are managing it. I undoubtedly can say that it was the best experience of my life and I can probably spend my lifetime here.This place is hidden definitely a gem in Galle. I am literally out of words to appreciate the property as well as the people who are managing the property, namely Daya, Janaka, Samantha and the guards. These people pampered me so much, that I literally cried before leaving this place. These people are "Genies" and follow "you name it and you get it" policy. Now a detailed review. We were welcomed in the most royal way, with people eagerly waiting for us with a tasty welcome drink and wet towels in their hand. Then we were made to do the property tour, which made me fall in love with the property.Travelled with a family of 7, the property offers everything you'd need in the stay for everyone. "Getting bored" is just impossible when you're living in a property that offers so much and which is managed by such gems. There are 2 rooms on the ground floor, and 2 rooms along with the kids room on the upper floor. There was no kid in our family, so we didn't require the kids room. The property offers a private beach which is just outstanding. We even got a beachside bon-fire done with cinnamon wood which was arranged by Janaka and Daya in no time and managed by the guards to ensure our safety. The private pool(3ft-8ft) is very impressive with a villa view and the garden view. There are a bunch of relaxing collapsible chairs which make it even more admirable. There's a recreation room with a Pool Table, a foosball table and Xbox along with a bunch of games. Like I said, this villa is a recreation hub, and this villa would seriously not let you leave. There's a fish pond with exotic fishes. Samantha was very kind and let us feed the fishes with breads and chapatis which was an exceptional and out of the world experience. The private garden is splendid and wonderfully managed. There was 2 hammocks and swings for relaxation. I could literally spend my entire day lying on those hammocks and listening to the sea breeze which was right next to it. The guards were very friendly. They even got us fresh coconut water by climbing the coconut trees in the property itself. Janaka has his own TukTuk and offered my father rides to go to the market with him. Chef Samantha can actually prepare anything you like. You name it, and you'll get it. He even tried to prepare Indian cuisine and I'd give him a complete 5/5 for his efforts and tasty food. The open kitchen idea is very cool and helps in a small chit chat while preparing food. Now, the rooms. Not only the master bedroom is huge, the other rooms are no less. The master bedroom, located on the first floor has a dazzling bathtub which is very clean and hygienic.The other rooms have showers and they offer Spice Island Toiletries which are very very luxurious. They have board games too so that at any point, you do not get bored There are 2 very big chillers to keep your drinks chilled. The drawing room and the sitting area was fabulous and very comfortable with a beautiful view and decorated by beautiful flowers. The dining area too was very royal with tip-top cutlery. All in all, this place is heaven with everything you'd require. A big shoutout to all the people who are managing this property. Daya, Janaka, Samantha and the guards. I have a lot of photos to share, but due to some technical reasons, I can't post it on tripadvisor. Can't wait to get back to this villa and have the time of my life. Not only me, my entire family enjoyed the stay. Highly recommended. If you are going to Galle and not staying at Skye Villa, you're missing something. Recommended for Certificate for Excellence.

Wonderful family holiday

We had a brilliant time at the Skye House for the October half term. We were a family with three young children, 2 uncles and grandparents and we loved every minute. The house is a lovely colonial style villa on a pristine beach with plenty of space, a play ground and swings and a great games room. The garden is lovely for the children to run around and releasing the baby turtles at the sanctuary next door was great. Janaka the villa manager looked after us so well with his great team, they organised Tuk Tuks, transfers and excursions for us and Sam the Chef prepared delicious meals and gave us s cooking class. The house is well located between Galle and Welligama. We will definitely be back

Ultimate Holiday Home - You will never want to leave!

We rented out this place to have our wedding. The wedding was meant to be a beach side garden party for 100 guests and the pictures I saw online seemed promising. Little did I know, the pictures do not do the place justice. The place is stunning with plenty of seating areas with grand bedrooms all with built in en-suites. Plenty of nice areas to chill. Our favourite spots in the house is in the pool or on the upper floor balcony overlooking the ocean. I regretted instantly not choosing to stay there longer. More than the place itself, what truly made our stay were the wonderful staff who not only tended to our every needs but also went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Their in-house chef catered to our every needs and cooked whatever we felt like (At one point we wanted pasta and he happily obliged. It was delicious). But most of all to Janaka who is just the most wonderful host. Anything we needed was there in a heartbeat. Need a run to the ATM? He actually went and personally took me to one. Air-con broke down? He'll have a new one installed in the next couple of hours. Absolutely a delight to have a conversation with too. The wedding itself was stunning and felt like a fairytale. I can only pray that one day we will get the chance to come back. The only downside of our stay was how sad I was to leave. Highly recommend.

Ideal location and perfect for large group

We stayed at Skye for 2 nights and it was the perfect location to explore the Galle area (highlights incl. Dalawella beach, Galle Fort, Sea Turtle Sanctuary, Koggala beach). The set-up is beautiful and it's right on a secluded beach. Loved the support staff as they were very helpful and attended to our every need/request.

The family vacation perfected!

Skye House excels in each aspect of an ideal family vacation. The house and its decor offer equal parts luxury and comfort. The bedrooms are all spacious and en suite with the total number of beds meaning that a stay here is most suited to either multiple families or large ones. There are all the appropriate mod-cons for such a place and both indoor and outdoor activities are provided for in abundance. The pictures are evidence enough for the beauty of this beach-side villa. The beach itself goes as far as the eye can see though do make note of the season if beach lounging is a requirement for your stay. The villa is well-staffed, each member is extremely kind and helpful but also respect the privacy of their guests. Staff know the local area very well and can arrange a variety of trips, including trips to Galle wherein the original fort sits proudly against the sea. The staff are also more than happy to school you in a game of cricket. 24hr security dispels all crime-related concerns. The chef is adept in preparing not only tasty, fresh Sri Lankan food but can also accommodate a wide variety of cuisines, including more child-orientated food. He is happy for the guest to pick from a large menu but we found that letting him use his experience to select and prepare the best local ingredients was a way to ensure only the freshest food was on the table. He can also prepare gargantuan volumes of milkshakes for any sweet-toothed guests. I found no issues with my stay at Skye House and I anticipate that very few people ever would.

Loved this place!

Had a blissful 8 night stay in Skye House with two other families (6 adults and 6 children altogether). The house, layout and location was fantastic, with the kids loving the garden gate right onto the beach and the warm indian ocean! Nothing was too much trouble for Janeka and his hard working team! Samantha's authentic food was excellent and catered for all tastes. Janeka organised and recommended lots of excursions for us including, tea plantation, cinnamon experience, boat trip on Koggala lake, lunch out in Galle, dinner at the Fortress hotel, sunset cruise from Mirissa, elephant ride, bike trecking through paddy fields, picnic and snorkelling on Jungle beach and a particular high light for my 11 year old son was getting to drive Janeka's tuk tuk on several occasions! He even took us to his local village to join in the Sri Lankan New Year games and celebrations. The locals were extremely friendly and we felt safe where ever we went. It was lovely to get up to a beautifully prepared breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, pancakes, Sri Lankan omelettes and hoppers! We had a most memorable time at Skye House and would be delighted to return one day. A big thank you to Janeka and his team xx

Skye House is a private modern beachfront villa located near the historic town of Galle in Sri Lanka. This gorgeous modern beach house is ideal for seasonal swimming and boogie boarding. Stay in the villa and enjoy ready access to idyllic coastal villages and sandy beaches of Unawatuna, Thalpe, Weligama, Merissa, Koggala, and Ahangama. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort also consists of a number of cafes and shops along the narrow streets that you can explore.

Cancellation Policy

* For cancellations more than 60 days before the arrival date 80% of the total rental amount, minus a USD 150 administration fee, will be refunded.
* For cancellations and/or amendments 30 - 60 days before the arrival date, 50% of the final booking amount, minus USD 150 in administration fees, will be refunded.
* For cancellations 1 - 29 days before the arrival date and for no -shows, no refund will be made.
* During peak periods, 30 days will be added to all cancellation periods.
* A refund may be offered, if the Villa is re-let for the same duration and at the same rates.
* Any amendments that reduce the total rental amount will be treated as a partial cancellation and may be subject to the cancellation fees stated above.
* Any amendments that involve the booking of another property altogether, will be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and the creation of a new one.
* In the unlikely event a villa booking is cancelled by the owner, the owner will attempt to secure a booking in an alternative property of the same standard, at the same rates. If this is not possible, a full refund will be made.

Payment Terms

* Prices quoted are in US Dollars, are listed by the Villa Owners and are subject to change without prior notice. However, once a deposit or payment has been received, the prices will not be amended for the dates of the rental.
* All payments are to be made in US dollars unless an exchange rate for other currencies has been agreed on prior to the payment being made.
* Bookings more than 30 days before the date of arrival will require a 50% deposit to confirm the booking. The full payment must be received 30 days (60 days if peak period) before the date of arrival. No reminder will be sent and failure to pay on time may result in a loss of the booking.
* Bookings made within 30 days of the date (60 days if peak period) of arrival, will require full payment.
* Once the deposit or payment has been received, a final booking confirmation will be sent.
* A security deposit equivalent of one night rent will be payable in US Dollars, in cash, on arrival at the villa. This deposit will be used against any damages or charges incurred during the stay. The difference or full amount will be returned in USD on the day of departure. If the charges cannot be determined at the time of departure, the Owner is entitled to withhold a reasonable estimate from your security deposit and will return any balance as soon as the actual cost has been determined.

Private modern beachfront villa

Skye House is a private modern beachfront villa with 5 en-suite bedrooms, a large pool and play ground, and direct access onto one of Sri Lanka's best beaches that has wide, soft sand, and warm crystal clear water lapping on the shore. The property is walled and has night time security. It is serviced by professional staff to take care of guests and ensure they have a unique and relaxing holiday experience.

All the five bedrooms are air conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms. The master suite of Skye House is located on the first floor and has a south facing balcony overlooking sea views. Like the master suite, the guest suite is also located on the upper floor and is fitted with a king size sleigh bed. The pond room is located on the ground floor and is fitted with twin beds. It has a terrace overlooking inner pond. The garden suite is on the ground floor while upstairs, there is a bunk room with six beds and is ideal for children.

The living area of Skye House enjoys an open-plan living area with dining room that can comfortably seat 12. The living room has three sofas, a coffee table and Ipod deck. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal to try your hands at cooking up local cuisine or the in-house chef to pamper you with the choicest dishes. The French windows on the three sides of the living area overlook the garden, pool, and inner courtyard. The villa also has a pool house with TV/DVD/WiFi, direct pool access, en-suite, table tennis table. The L-shaped pool is fitted with sun decks that are ideal for lounging. The property is child-friendly and has a children’s playground with climbing rope, two swings, monkey bars, and pirate's cabin.
